An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Dispenser to join ourDispensary Team at Wem and Prees Medical Practice. Working part-time working 20 hours with the possibility of further hours. This will be at our PreesPractice the successful candidate will receive full training in order to assistour busy but friendly team.
Your role will be to provide a quick efficient and accurate dispensing ofmedication to the patients of Wem and Prees medical practice, and to assist thedispensary manager in insuring effective financial control of the dispensary.
Main duties of the job
This position requires high levels ofattention to detail as the role includes being responsible for ensuring the correct medication is handed outto the correct patient whilst respecting patient confidentiality at all times.

With seven clinical Partnersand three salaried GP we are a medium sized Practice supporting over 12,500patients across the two sites.
Job descriptionJob responsibilities
The role of a dispenser consistsof the following:
Turning on all the computers and printers needto be turned on in the morning and shut down at night.
Open any required portals, emails, docman, drugtafiff, etc.
Record the fridge temperature on the computerand reset the thermometer.
Cashing up - (Must be completed daily).
Put away the all the orders and check invoicesfor discrepancies. Claim if necessary.
Deal with any notes or queries in the taskfolder on Emis
Check dispensary email and complete any mail.
Print the dispensing queue by mid-morning andput a note on the Duty DRs screen when they are placed on reception and arewaiting to be sign.
Print the dispensing queue often Keeping theworkflow going and allowing the stock to be ordered in.
Check any dispensed prescriptions.
Text patients
Place dispensed prescriptions in the boxes onthe shelves or owing shelf or delivery box.
Restock the bottles, boxes, labels, paper forprinter and bags when required.
On all part owing prescriptions, always keeporiginal script with owing label. Write on owing label the remaining quantity.
Endorse prescriptions when required whiledispensing and checking.
Count prescriptions and quantity of items on theprescriptions. Making sure the correct figure is in the bottom left box. Pleasemake sure that items that have more than one charge have been added upcorrectly. , Stockings are per stocking so 2 boxes of stockings would be 4prescription charges.
Any drug returns need to be returned on the sameday or as soon as possible (No later than three days). Filling in the correctdocumentation depending on supplier.
Attend the counter when there is a patient or ifasked to help with a queue.
CD requisition forms to be filled in whenordering a CD.
CD requisition to be photocopied once they havebeen signed.
Booking in CD stock please write the supplierand invoice number. Before writing the quantity, please check the stock levels and then calculate the amount.
Once finished booking in the CDs then pleaselock and remove the CD key.
Label any picked medication.
Add all order details to relevant spreadsheets.
