SEDS is going through an exciting programme of expansion. An opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Eating Disorder Practitioners to join the SEDS Service.

Alternatively, we would also be delighted to offer Band 5 developmental posts to support career development for those recently or who are about to qualify and the job description would be tailored accordingly.

We are a passionate multidisciplinary team delivering NICE recommended treatments and aiming to provide the best possible care to adults living with eating disorders.

Previous experience of working in an eating disorder service is desirable but not necessary, as we offer considerable in-house and external training opportunities.

The post will be supervised by a senior member of the team. There will be extensive opportunities for being involved in research/service development and nurturing special interests. Covering the whole of Sussex, SEDS provides specialist eating disorder services across a large geographical area.

With the introduction of remote working, there is scope, where possible, to tailor your working pattern/location to the needs of both the service and you.

Currently we are keen to recruit from the Brighton area.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • The post holder will provide specialist eating disorder assessment and interventions (including delivering evidenced based treatment in group format) to adults with eating disorders in an outpatient setting.
  • To be responsible for own clinical caseload and work autonomously
  • To monitor and report on progress of outofarea placements and ensure robust followup care is place for preparation for service users return to local services.
  • To provide specialist advice and consultation to internal and external colleagues
  • To monitor and promote the health of patients with eating disorders.
  • To provide supervision to junior members of the team.
  • To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVIDWe are committed to supporting staff wellbeing.
