St Giles is seeking a Voluntary Pantry Delivery Driver to deliver food to our Camberwell Pantry through The Felix Project depot in Deptford.

The Pantry is a Social Supermarket helping clients access affordable and healthy food weekly for up to six months, providing both immediate assistance and a sustainable path out of poverty.

About the Role

The Voluntary Pantry Delivery Driver will transport goods between St Giles Pantry, Camberwell, and the Felix Project depot in Deptford, adhering to safety and handling guidelines.

Responsibilities include vehicle safety checks, reporting incidents, adapting to changing situations, and upholding courteous interactions with volunteers and staff.


Requirements
  • Full and valid driving license
  • Physical fitness for manual loading
  • Previous experience in van delivery, preferably in food distribution with chilled vehicles
  • Food safety and hygiene qualification or willingness to obtain one
  • Quick decision-making abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with safety protocols in driving and loading/unloading
