An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Grampian for a full time Locum Consultant Urological Surgeon. This post is for a period of twelve months and will join our existing team of eleven Consultants at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The appointee would be expected to have a subspecialist interest in stone disease management and would be keen to develop benign prostate disease management. Applicants must currently work for NHS Grampian.

The Urology Department within NHS Grampian is a progressive and welcoming team based in a major University teaching hospital and with strong links to the academic department within Aberdeen University. The department provides regional major pelvic cancer, robotic and stone services to the North of Scotland as well as core urology to the population of NHS Grampian. The team have consistently lead the way on the development of treatment options for patients across the north of Scotland and in recent years have introduced robotic surgery, a fixed-site lithotripsy service and HOLEP.

Besides having subspecialist knowledge and experience in endo-urology, applicants should have wide knowledge of and experience in all major branches of the specialty including core urology in order to support the work of the existing team.

The department are looking for candidates to be forward thinking and collaborative in their approach to the role and the development of the service across both Grampian and the North of Scotland.
