OVERVIEW:


nAs a Senior Data Scientist at Hartree, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy and driving the development of advanced machine learning models, optimization and time series forecasting solutions, specifically focused on the European Power Markets.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize data pipelines and predictive models that inform trading decisions and enhance operational efficiency.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

nMarket Data Analysis:


Conduct comprehensive analysis of data related to the European Power Market, including historical price data, supply and demand trends, weather patterns along with many other drivers.

Utilize statistical and mathematical techniques to extract valuable insights.

nModel Development:
Build models for fundamental market drivers, namely power demand, wind/solar/hydro production etc. using cutting-edge machine learning models. Continuously improve these models based on real-time data and feedback from trading activities.

nFramework Development:
Contribute to large scale machine learning framework that creates and delivers forecast at scale. Enable other analysts and data scientists to prototype ideas with reusable system components.

nResearch and Innovation:
Stay up-to-date with industry-standard practices, emerging technologies in machine learning and data science. Explore new data sources and analytical techniques to enhance decision-making capabilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


nProven experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong focus on machine learning and time series forecasting.nExpertise in Python and its data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).nSolid understanding of ML and data pipeline architectures and best practices.nExperience with big data technologies and distributed computing (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.nProficient in SQL and experience with relational databases.nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.nKnowledge of version control systems (e.g.

, Git)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


nPrior knowledge or experience in the power markets or energy sector.nExperience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and MLOps practices.nFamiliarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
