EHS Advisor

  • You will provide independent, pragmatic, and objective EHS support, training, advice and guidance to Operations to enable them to manage EHS in their business areas.
  • You promote, monitor, encourage and uphold the highest levels of EHS performance to ensure compliance with legal requirements, site standards and GSK EHS & Engineering standards.
In this role you will

  • To provide coaching to staff and leaders to manage EHS in their business area and to promote a proactive safety culture.
  • To provide general EHS advice and guidance to site staff and leaders on EHS inspections, risk assessment, regulatory advice, incident/near miss investigation and area EHS Improvement plans.
  • Develop and deliver face to face EHS training
  • Active participation in Business Unit accountability meetings and EHS Governance meetings
  • Provide pragmatic, riskbased advice & input into the development of the Ulverston EHS Management System, EHS Strategy and drive EHS Continuous Improvements to achieve wider ZSC EHS objectives.
  • Produce, report and present on EHS KPI performance for above site and on site.
  • Support the Fire and Loss Prevention EHS Advisor with routine activities.

Qualifications & Skills:We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge and understanding of EHS is essential to the role to meet job requirements and gain confidence and respect of stakeholders.
  • A solid understanding of risk assessment techniques
  • Pragmatic approach to managing risk whilst ensuring compliance
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to partner, work with and influence a broad range of staff and management
  • Good problemsolving skills
  • Flexibility with an ability to manage own workload in a busy, rapidly changing environment
  • Exhibit the mindset and behaviours to effectively work and continuously improve in an EHS role
Preferred

Qualifications & Skills:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Would consider significant experience in Pharmaceutical Industry and demonstrable experience and knowledge in areas of EHS.
  • Knowledge and understanding of EHS is essential to the role to meet job requirements.
  • Some EHS experience would be preferable along with the desire and aptitude to gain EHS qualifications up to and including NEBOSH Diploma.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, chemical or other higher risk facility.
