We Love Pets is a family run business founded in 2007 to provide a range of local pet services including dog walking, home boarding/day care services, puppy, cat and pet sitting services along with small animal, reptile and exotics and even horse and pony care.

Our Stevenage, Hertford and Ware team provide a flexible service across the towns and surrounding areas and works around our customer's schedule and situation.

We Love Pets - Dog Walker (Hertford/Ware)
Job summary

• Collect, exercise and care for customers' dogs.
• Various positions available
• Walks during the day (most walks are between
• Monday to Friday hours, with occasional weekend working on a rota basis as required
• Walking up to three dogs at a time maximum (we don't pack walk)
• Full training and insurance protection
• Report to the branch manager and work with the dog walking team to provide a highquality dog walking service.

Main duties

• Pick up and drop off dogs from their homes whilst ensuring the security of customers' homes
• Transport dogs safely to and from their walks and homes in their own vehicle
• Understand special requests and specific conditions for each dog
• Walk dogs outdoors in all weather conditions (anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes at a time)
• Ensure the safety of the dogs you are walking and anyone else around them
• Remove pet waste
• Take photos of the dogs for their owners so we can update them regularly
• Give fresh water, wipe paws and towel wet dogs down at end of walk (if necessary)
• Cover for team sickness/holiday

Requirements:

• Walk for a few hours a day
• Lift, exercise, handle and restrain dogs
• Submit for a police and reference check
• Complete our online pet first aid course
• Carry out some shadow walks before taking the job
• Undergo training as required
• Use their car (business car insurance, tax and MOT required)
• Know their area and local dog walking spots
• Have a reliable mobile phone and internet access
• Communicate clearly with customers and branch manager
• Follow instructions
