  • Hours are 6pm to 6am, 4 on 4 off, and salary is £25,000 for a trainee, upwards for someone with experience

  • In this role, you will be reporting to the Import Manager and will be ensuring the movement and clearance of import freight, from port of arrival to the facility in Hythe, for release or delivery to the customer.
  • About the role:
  • Manage and process the documentation and forms for the efficient and lawful execution of all import activities
  • Communicate with import authorities, customers and suppliers across the UK and EU keeping them up to date with the movement of the freight ensuring all compliance is completed
  • Plan and implement import strategies and activities consistent with the requirements of the business
  • Work closely with the warehouse and distribution team to ensure the swift movement of freight from the facility and update customers accordingly

About you:

  • Ideally, you'll have experience within customs clearance, import/export role
  • Understanding and knowledge of customs procedures and principles
  • IT literate and proficient with Outlook/Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and meet time critical deadlines
  • A problem solver, have good attention to detail and be an experienced team player
