We are currently recruiting for temporary/seasonal van driver based at Grange Nurseries. Grange Nurseries is a busy, wholesale nursery, providing plants to garden centres all across the South East of England.

Applicants must have a clean driving licence.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Loading own daily orders ready for delivery in the correct order and planning delivery routes efficiently.
  • Representing W. D. Smith and Son when delivering to our customers as a friendly, helpful, and honest business.
  • Delivering our products with care and within in legal regulations.
  • Making sure the correct trolleys and shelves are returned to site.
  • Bringing back to the office signed proof of delivery for each order.
  • Keeping appropriate driving records.
  • Being responsible for carrying out basic day to day checks on your vehicle, rectifying any simple issues and reporting any mechanical problems that need outside action.

HOURS OF WORK:

Monday to Friday from 7.45am to 4.45pm with some earlier starts and later finishes with weekend overtime during busy periods.


RATE OF PAY:
£10.80 per hour (basic)

Grange Nurseries is the main wholesale nursery site for W. D. Smith & Son, a family-run business with four generations of horticultural experience behind it. W. D. Smith & Son also own Meadow Croft Garden Centre, just down the road from Grange Nurseries.
