Deputy Bar Steward

We are a private members' social club in the heart of Corsham. A vacancy has arisen in our bar staff team for a deputy bar steward.

Working mainly on your own you will be serving hot and cold drinks to our members during lunchtime and evening opening hours as well as maintaining the cleanliness of the bar area and the cash reconciliation at the end of your shift.

You will also be required to maintain stock levels on the shelves, change empty beer barrels and carry out other cellar related tasks, so previous bar work experience in a similar role is preferred but some training can be given in unfamiliar areas.

We can guarantee 23.75 hours a week over 3 days as a minimum.

Monday and Tuesday lunch and evening, Thursday evening and at least one Saturday evening a month for our live music events.

You will also be asked and expected to help us cover for the Steward's holidays (with other staff) when you may work up to 6 days a week.

All your work will be paid at the stated hourly rate.

As our Steward's deputy you would be required to take on the management of the bar to include stock ordering and staff rotas in his absence.

Benefits include 4 weeks paid holiday and employer contributions into a NEST pension fund (where eligible). Company sick pay after 2 years service.

Because some split shifts are involved this post would ideally suit a Corsham based person.
