_ September Start_

_ Are you considering a career in education? Do you want to be a teacher? Trying to gain valuable experience in the classroom? All whilst looking for a better work-life balance? Recently graduated and looking for some professional work experience?_
Then being a Teaching Assistant could be for you.

We're working with a great school in Harrow, to recruit a teaching assistant to start in September.

About the school:

This is a lovely two-form entry Church of England primary school, located in the heart of Harrow.

It's led by a very good Headteacher, with a dedicated senior leadership team and there's a lovely atmosphere around the school, with a busy, creative environment.

The school likes to invest in their staff and you will receive regular training to assist your development. This will be a lovely opportunity to join a great school and become part of a close team.

The Role:

The school is seeking full time, term-time teaching assistants to start in September for the duration of the academic year 2023/24.

The actual year groups are to be confirmed but likely to be in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting small groups with their work
  • Working 1:1 with children who require additional input with their learning
  • Working as a whole class teaching assistant
  • Preparing lessons and activities

There will be some intervention work with KS1 & KS2 pupils, especially those who require extra help with English and Maths, so good skills in these areas are required.

About you:

The school wishes to appoint either a graduate who is seeking a role in education or an experienced teaching assistant.

You should be adaptable, engaging, proactive and passionate about working with children.

Ideally you will have at least six months' experience in a primary school as a teaching assistant and have all A* at A level although the school will consider outstanding graduates.

A team approach is key, as you will be an essential member of the school community and working closely with your class teacher.

Due to the variety of the role, you will need to have a flexible approach and a good sense of humour is essential

To be considered as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in this program you will need:

  • A clear DBS (this can be applied for through LTF Recruitment)
  • To be qualified to degree level (Ideally Psychology, Law, Maths or English)
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
