As a key member of the hotel sales team, your main focus will be on delivering a first class enquiry handling service to new, prospective and existing clients.

You will be involved in driving and converting business across Meetings & Events, Local Corporate and Group Accommodation and seeing these through the full booking journey.

You will also have a focus on the membership sales and member retention of the VWorks coworking club within your Village Hotel (where these exist).

You will focus on maximising revenue generation through proactive and reactive sales efforts; setting and conducting on site client appointments, co-ordinating enquiries through to conversion and contracting.

You will deputise in the absence of the M&E Manager or Director of Hotel and Meeting and Event sales.


This is an office based role and you will be a confident "people" person, strong administrative skills with an eye for detail.

Purpose of the Role and Key Accountabilities

Sales Office Administration and Systems- Support with ongoing training of the sales office team.

  • Work closely with the M&E Manager to implement and drive the hotels sales strategy.
  • Support the M&E Manager with delivering of the sales teams KPI's
  • Provide reports on sales performance in the absence of the M&E Manager
  • You will deal with a wide range of clients and events from meeting planners, weddings, private events and corporate functions.
  • You will handle many administrative tasks within the sales department and ensure these are dealt with accurately with great attention to detail
  • In the absence of the M&E Manager support the team to make commercial business decisions on enquiries and conversion.
  • Ensure all proposals and contracts are issued in a timely manner to support conversion of business and fall in line with the company standards and expectations
  • Record information accurately and support data integrity as mandated into the bookings systems
  • Coordinate the details of events booked in the hotel, communicating with both the client and the operational team on requirements with a high degree of accuracy
  • You will work alongside the operations team to ensure the members experience is delivered to brand standards at all times. Outstanding customer services is expected
  • Post revenues and ensure all financial processes are followed
  • Be accountable for the accuracy of data integrity and filing systems in order to comply with audit and internal KPIs
  • Ensure the timely and appropriate management of all customer issues and/or complaints, escalating to the relevant person

New Business Generation

  • You will conduct local research, identifying and follow up sources of leads for Meetings & Events, Local Corporate, Group Accommodation and VWorks
  • In your role, you will generate new sales, with the passion and drive to sell, retain and achieve agreed targets
  • You will be fully conversant with the Village products, understand the features of each and sell the benefits to prospects with the aim of converting to sales.
  • You will follow the sales action plan to support new client sign ups and client retention
  • You will work alongside other departments within Village, such as Health & Fitness to generate new business
  • You will demonstrate passion for Village products and a natural ability to enthuse prospects.
  • You will be target driven and strive to exceed your sales targets
  • Encourage meeting room bookings ensuring all revenue opportunities are maximised.
  • Work with the DOS on clear objectives, targets and KPI's ensuring progress against these on an ongoing basis
  • Actively participate in Village brand sales initiatives
  • To be fully aware of competitors, their offering and how Village can gain the competitive edge
