Choose Well - Choose WWL Job Overview The Healthcare Operations Department is searching for a Clinic Prep & Reception Clerk within the Prep Team at Leigh Infirmary's Outpatients unit. The role demands handling large quantities of health records, which is physically demanding, so candidates should be prepared for that. - 37.5-hour post with flexible hours
- Motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Required to work effectively within a team and have knowledge of office systems in a customer-related environment
- Educated to GSCE level or equivalent with keyboard skills
- Must be flexible to adapt quickly to changing work patterns and cover various admin tasks as per service demands
- Ensure timely preparation of patients' case-notes for clinics
- Receive patients at reception and update demographic details
- Book follow-up appointments and manage clinic bookings
- Record clinic outcomes accurately and confidentially
- Transport case-notes securely between areas
- Provide support to medical and nursing staff during clinics
- Assist walk-in patients with obtaining case-notes
- Deal with telephone messages and maintain records appropriately
- Liaise with other departments for case-note handling
- Provide necessary cover when required
- Demonstrate effective communication and awareness of patient needs
- Perform any duties relevant to the grade
- Educated to GCSE or equivalent level
- Experience in a busy, customer-focused environment
- Recent work experience in an office setting
- Experience with IT systems in the workplace
- Demonstrate accurate keyboard skills and good telephone manner
- Work well in a team and independently
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Efficiently work to targets, deadlines, and adapt to changes
- Quick learner and good at managing workloads
- General office systems and protocols knowledge
- Ability to follow guidelines and use IT systems
- Understanding of customer care practices and IT systems
- Flexible work approach for covering absences
- Proficient English language skills
- Good attendance record
