The Stroke Speech and Language Therapy team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is looking for an innovative & passionate SLT You would be working as part of a rotational post in a Comprehensive Stroke Centre, between HASU, Acute stroke, and stroke rehabilitation.

This post offers incredible variety and would provide the opportunity to work with an established and passionate MDT who provide best patient care & continuous innovation.

You would have opportunity to develop & further specialise your skills within enhanced care within acute management given our Thrombectomy service, along with your specialist skills in stroke rehabilitation.


You would be expected to work within a 6 day therapy service with plans in future, for a 7-day service.

The successful applicant would be driven by a desire to provide a high standard of patient care & show a passion for continuous development alongside best evidenced based care.

We have a strong commitment to CPD and personal development with the aim to develop and grow your skills. There is also regular access to videofluroscopy & FEES.


We are looking for band 6 applicants with a passion for stroke or experienced band 5 applicants who are looking to develop their skills further in their first band 6 role.

Dependent on experience, band - 6 development posts would be considered.

This post would sit within the wider Speech and Language therapy service.

We are a large team of 24.0 staff and are part of Integrated Nutrition and Communication Services which includes the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition Nurses.

There is regular access to instrumental assessment of FEES and VFS with an established and experienced service.

We are a friendly team rated 'GOLD' on the STAR quality assurance framework with a strong commitment to evidence based practice with regular CPD, appraisal and training opportunities.

We are part of an active regional stroke delivery network, which drives quality improvement initiative and provides training opportunities.


You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, synergising your expertise with that of other professionals to deliver comprehensive care tailored to meet the diverse needs of stroke patients.
