The Client:
The client is a well-established international business with a strong focus on the travel, transportation, and airline industries. With well established finance teams across the globe, they are seeking to make a new appointment for one of the central units that focuses on IFRS.

Overview:
The Senior Analyst Accounting Operations is responsible, with the assistance of the senior consolidation and compliance accountants, for delivering financial statements in various locations across the world. He/she ensures the consistency of financial statements with IFRS standards and local regulatory requirements. This includes analysis of the local requirements, collaboration with the financial auditors and detailed analysis of the accounts to ensure adequacy of financial statements.

What you will do:

• Collect and analyse information required for the preparation of financial statements globally

• Participate actively in the planning for the preparation and delivery of the financial statements

• Prepare adequate financial statements and associated disclosures in line with IFRS norms and possible local adjustments

• Interact with external auditors and provide adequate justifications to obtain certification of financial statements reported

• Resolve queries liaising with the appropriate internal/external contacts

• Identify organisational and process efficiency improvements

• Implement specific department project and process improvement tasks

Who you are:

• This function does not necessarily requires prior experience, the candidate will be trained on the job. However, candidates with 1 to 5 years of experience in an accounting environment preferably within a medium to large international company, or within an international auditing firm would be appreciated as well.

• Understanding of IFRS accounting principles; Analytical capabilities

• Ability to multi-task, to stand up to pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Good communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external customers at all levels

• Proficiency in spoken and written English; other languages are beneficial

• Demonstrate PC proficiency (MS Excel Word Power Point)

• Working knowledge of Oracle SUN (or equivalent financial systems) Hyperion reporting system is desirable
