Due to a vacant post, we are recruiting a Climate Change Business Partner role within the Climate Change team.

Our Service

The Climate Change team currently includes a manager, 4 business partners and a project officer.

We enable the delivery of the North Yorkshire Climate Change Strategy through both ambitions for North Yorkshire Council to become operationally net zero by 2030 and for the wider remit of York and North Yorkshire to become carbon negative by 2040.

The three key delivery themes of the Strategy are Mitigation, Adaptation and Supporting Nature.

The role

What you will bring

You will have degree or graduate capability and have broad knowledge of climate change and its impact. You will have good understanding of climate change mitigation and adaptation activity broadly.

You will have experience of managing and advising on a climate change related project, experience of action planning delivery and experience of working across a range of service areas, engaging with service leads, managers and local communities.

You will have IT skills and ability to interpret and analyse data.
