What you'll be responsible for:

  • The successful post holder be the first point of contact for all patients/visitors to the department ensure a welcome environment and respond to any queries helpfully and informatively.
  • Attending patients for prebooked appointments checking accuracy of patient details on PAS/ Soliton.
  • Deal with general telephone enquiries, take messages accurately, give information and advice (nonmedical) to GP's, patients, relatives and other staff involved with the patient in a manner responsive to customer needs and in accordance with trust procedures.
  • Work as part of an appointment team making all patient appointments and dealing with any associated enquiries. To ensure patients receive appointment paperwork in line with the Access Policy.
  • To ensure all booked appointments are booked according to diagnostic waiting times.
  • Receiving and monitoring of blood results to ensure timely appointments are given.
  • Liaise with consultants, radiographers and support staff regarding availability of staff for examination lists.
  • To monitor waiting lists, waiting times and DNA's as per local Trust Policies.
  • Managing private, category all patients and any associated paperwork.
  • To ensure accurate data entry on the all hospital and Radiology systems.
  • To cover leave and duties of other staff as required. Assisting less experienced staff and offer help and advice when needed.
  • To be prepared to work flexible hours to cover departmental needs should change in working patterns to be required to meet the service needs.
  • To be aware of the confidential nature of work and maintain strictest confidence when dealing with patients, staff and other health service business information in accordance with both Trust Policy and the Data Protection Act.
  • To be aware of and comply with Trust Policies
