Job advert- As a clerk at one of our schools, you will be responsible, among other things, for:

  • The timely circulation of agendas and the production of accurate minutes
  • Monitoring governing body membership, training and attendance
  • Maintaining the register of governors' business interests
  • Providing administrative support to the governing body
  • Providing advice to governors on their legal and procedural duties.
  • Perform such other tasks as may be determined by the governing board from time to time


Clerking for the full governor meetings and committees in the schools amounts to approximately 150 hours per year with a potential to increase these hours for project-based work.


  • We can offer a flexible role that enables a good work/life balance. The governing bodies generally meet in the evenings online and these can be recorded so attendance at all meetings is not necessary. Most of the work can be done at home at any time with attendance at a few evening meetings a year for the Full Governing Body.

This position requires an enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check and two strong references.
