Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated colleague to join our department as a trust ST3+ Doctor in Diabetes & Endocrinology. This is an enthusiastic and dynamic department providing a range of secondary care diabetes and endocrine services including a range of sub-specialty clinics.

Please note, this contract ends 1st October 24

Main duties of the job

The appointees will work with colleagues to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services at Conquest Hospital, Hastings. The department is research active and the successful candidates would be expected to participate in research and audit, alongside full engagement in education and training.

Qualifications

Essential

MB BS or equivalent Full Registration with GMC with a licence to practice

Desirable

MRCP or equivalent

Training

Essential

Experience in all aspects of General medicine and other relevant medical specialities

Desirable

some experience in Diabetes medicine and Endocrinology.

Essential

Evidence of participation in staff management Understanding of recent initiatives and changes, including Clinical Governance and Appraisal Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit Understanding of the role of research Effective communicator, able to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Leadership qualities Familiarity with information technology and general computer skills. Ability to work with colleagues in other specialities to develop local services. Professional attitude towards work Good record of attendance UK Driving Licence Enthusiasm for teaching medical students, nursing staff and other professional groups

Desirable

Management course and/or qualifications Knowledge of the structure of Health Service Completion and/or Publication of audit projects Experience of clinical research culminating in presentation and publication of original studies, review articles, etc, relevant to speciality Ability to lead clinical research project Good presentation skills Demonstration of initiated projects Specific attributes for post Educational qualification
