Position: Council Scrutiny Support Officer

Company: Adecco

  • £25.22 per hour PAYE
  • Work Schedule: Mon to Fri, 35 hours per week
  • Temporary Role
  • Hybrid Working (1-2 days in the office per week)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To provide support to non-executive Councillors by overseeing scrutiny activities and contributing to policy development.
  • To manage Scrutiny Panel and Committee meetings effectively.
  • To clerk Council's Scrutiny meetings, prepare reports, publish agendas, take minutes, and ensure follow-up actions.
  • Develop and organize Scrutiny work programs by coordinating with Senior Officers, Cabinet Members, and external partners.
  • Offer procedural guidance to officers, members, and the public during meetings.
  • Ensure timely completion of all deadlines for reports, agendas, and minutes.
  • Participate in site visits, meetings, and assist panels with review topics.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • A degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience in minute-taking and documentation.
  • Previous exposure to scrutiny activities or policy development in public/voluntary sectors.
