This is a new post which has arisen in the context of an expansion of the Eating Disorders Service (EDS).

This is a whole-time post (ten programmed activities per week) working as consultant psychiatrist with a county wide Eating Disorders service.

The consultant will be in a position to lead a range of developments in the eating disorder pathways, both within the county and across the region.

Ultimately it is anticipated that a day treatment service will reduce the ned for in-patient care.

The care of those with the greatest physical risk will be key to the role, as will that of users of the service with the most complex psychiatric comorbidity.

The postholder will work with the general hospitals and be a central link to the weekly Clinical Activity Panel for Specialist Eating Disorder Unit referrals and support review meetings for Cornish people in specialist units.

Working with the Clinical Lead and Operational Manager, the postholder will have an essential role with the Clinical Senate of the evolving South West Provider Collaborative.
