BASE:
QUEEN ELIZABETH UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL, GLASGOW


The Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit is responsible for the management of all patients in Scotland who have a traumatic injury to the spinal cord.

You will participate in providing care for Neurology patients on both an inpatient, day case and outpatient basis. You will join a team serving the population of Scotland, ensuring exposure to all aspects of Neurological care provision.

On-call duties include covering the neurology wards and also the spinal injuries unit, NRU (physically disabled rehabilitation unit). You will participate in a rota which is a 1 in 11 rota with FY2/ CMT doctors.

To practice medicine in the UK you need to hold both GMC registration and a license to practise.


The Clinical Fellow post is not a recognised training post but adheres to the principles accepted as necessary for good training.

For the motivated individual there may be opportunities for teaching and research.
