Valuer - Auction House

Due to the expansion of our business, we have an exciting opportunity for an intelligent, hardworking and committed individual to work within our established North Yorkshire Auction House.
A General Valuer is required to join our friendly team.This key, full time position would involve the ability to value and catalogue a range of art, antiques and collectables.
Other responsibilities would involve valuations for probate and insurance, client development and other duties before, during and after sales.Whilst a Specialism is welcomed it is not essential
A competitive salary package is offered, based on experience.
Experience:
- A Generalist with valuation experience.
- Have knowledge and valuation experience of antiques and collectables
- *
- Valuation, consignment and cataloguing of items
- The smooth management of our client's items, throughout the auction process, from consignment to dispatch,
- The coordination of photography and visual material to promote our auctions and best represent our clients items
- Provision of condition reports
- Excellent communication skills
- IT Literate, ability to type correspondence
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills
- Be able to work on own initiative and as a member of a busy team
- Work under pressure in the saleroom environment
- Quick to learn with drive and determination with the desire to progress within the auction industry.
- A positive working attitude, who can bend and flex with the needs of a busy auction schedule.
