We are looking for a dynamic
and innovative Outreach Librarian to join our Outreach Team in Scarborough area. As Outreach Librarian, you will use your
proven leadership and management skills to lead a team of staff and volunteers
to develop new library audiences, whilst maintaining existing service use
through the promotion of library services and facilities. You will ensure a
quality and consistency of service delivery at all libraries by monitoring the
performance of staff and volunteers, managing stock, and developing a programme
of outreach activities and will have experience in delivering a
customer-focussed service and managing projects

You will be based at
Scarborough Library which, following a recent £450k refurbishment is on a
continuing journey of improvement and, as busy town centre library, you may be
required to deal with challenging situations. You will have the ability to work
closely with communities, stakeholders and volunteers, have an entrepreneurial
approach to service delivery, and a passion for books, reading and working with
people.

Whilst the usual working hours
will be Monday - Thursday, 9.00am - 5.00pm and Friday, 9.00am - 4.30pm, you
will have a flexible approach to working, including weekends, evenings, and
different locations as required, with the ability to travel across North
Yorkshire. Literacy and numeracy equivalent to level 3 is required, alongside
desirable.
