Engaging with our community during infrastructure works to improve our region is vital for our performance and reputation. To support us in evaluating drainage solutions for multiple town catchments, we are seeking a Sustainable Urban Drainage (SuDS) Engineer to join our team.

What Will You Be Doing as Our New SuDS Engineer?

Working with various internal and external stakeholders such as schools, businesses, and councils, you will collaborate on proposals that meet community needs while aligning with safety requirements and business goals. You will bridge the gap between our community and project teams, demonstrating flexibility in dealing with stakeholders who may have differing opinions and priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop designs and coordinate multidiscipline teams, ensuring the use of standard products and compliance with British Standards.
  • Apply design principles related to pipelines, open channel flow, and SuDS features.
  • Contribute to proposals, work scope, schedules, and budgets.
  • Prepare Pre-Construction Information files for Ground Investigation Works and permanent works on site.
  • Implement risk management hierarchy in design and conduct Design Risk Assessments.
  • Proactively project manage to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meeting quality and safety standards.
  • Present solutions to internal and external stakeholders, address queries, and propose revised solutions where needed.
  • Explore innovative SuDS solutions to enhance efficiency.
A Little Bit About Your Skills, Experience, and Behaviours...

To excel in this new role within our infrastructure team, you should have experience in customer interface, developing, designing, and promoting SuDS solutions. You should also be proficient in designing surface water/foul sewer pipelines and adept at using MS Office Suite for effective communication.

You should be capable of developing and communicating technical sketches meeting CIRIA and British Standards, with strong communication and presentation skills. Collaboration and the ability to support proposals with solid reports and data analysis are essential for success in this position.
