Job Summary

We are currently looking for a **Higher Scientist - Molecular Assays** to join our **Control Testing** team within the **Science, Research & Innovation** group. This is a **full-time** opportunity, on a **permanent** basis. The role will be lab based in South Mimms, Hertfordshire, UK.

Job Description

The role will provide scientific support in a team of analytical scientists focused on molecular assays used for the characterisation of biological medicines. The Molecular Assays team will perform a range of analytical techniques including, PCR, qPCR, nucleic acid sequencing, platform-based adventitious agent detection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure analytical assays are performed in compliance with ISO17025.
  • Manage the day-to-day implementation and delivery of improvements in patient outcomes.
  • Advise and supervise training of staff.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure quality of service and patients' access to medicines.

Person Specification

  • A Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience in the molecular analysis of biological medicines.
  • Experience of working within ISO17025 quality management system.
  • Expertise in laboratory methods listed in the job description.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and interpreting results from complex data sets.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders using clear communication.
