  • Working within the Surveillance and Protection Technologies Sector and reporting to the Head of Commercial for S&PT, the Senior Commercial Officer will work closely with Integrated Project Teams supporting the bids for new opportunities, maintenance of current contracts and development of new relationships with a wide portfolio of products and services for customers within domestic, US & European Markets.
  • The Senior Commercial Officer provides an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic and fast moving part of the Leonardo Business.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain further Commercial experience supporting a variety of bids and contracts for key programmes, products and customers.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Reporting to the Head of Commercial S&PT and supporting a Commercial Manager and two Contracts Managers as required you will be responsible for: (primarily across two main IPTs focussed on Sensors and RFECM)
  • Drafting, negotiating and administration of complex terms and conditions of contract, working with Procurement to ensure appropriate flow down to subcontractors.
  • Drafting and reviewing agreements such as Non-Disclosure Agreements, Software Licensing Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding
  • Providing commercial support and administration to projects and/or contracts, including change control management, monitoring performance of its contractual obligations and management of commercial risk
  • Represents the Commercial function and Leonardo through unsupervised attendance at customer meetings
  • Preparing proposals for submission to Customers in conjunction with the preparation of internal documentation required to obtain bid approval
  • Ensuring that commercial and business processes and procedures are adhered to and that associated internal approvals are in place in line with delegated authorities.
  • Performance of complex assignments requiring cross functional collaboration without supervision
  • Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues, customers to deliver the value to the company
  • Work alongside the Integrated Project Team to support the winning of new business and the management and delivery of current contracts
  • Managing own workload, highlighting areas of conflict or priority

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required:

  • Holds an understanding of basic business finance, profit and loss, margin and mark up, escalation, foreign exchange
  • Has a basic understanding of export legislation, import taxes and duties
  • Identifies and understand commercial risks
  • Has the ability to build relationships with crossfunctional colleagues, and customers
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, written, oral and presentation skills.

  • A solid familiarity with SAP and its functionality
