EHS Officer

Purpose:


The main purpose of the role will be promotion of zero harm through fostering the development and utilization of appropriate work practices and procedures.

In addition the role will foster an appropriate EHS culture and stimulate line ownership of EHS ensuring EHS risks are managed according to Albea standards

Key responsibilities cover the following areas:

  • Provide expert support and guidance in all matters related to Health, Safety and Environment
  • Provide support and guidance in legislative compliance
  • Provide HSE leadership, guidance and oversight for all operational activities
  • Support the review and revision of HSE procedures and work practices
  • Provide input to high risk contractor management
  • Support the development of the site local audit plans
  • Support regulatory interfaces local authorities and emergency services
  • Participate in incident investigation and risk management
  • Management of COSHH register
  • Site Focal point for Occupational Health
  • Participate in workplace activities to raise the quality of HSE input, including workplace risk assessments, incident investigation and risk management
  • Carry out regular site inspections to ensure working practices, policies and procedures are complied with.
  • Record inspection findings and produce improvement suggestion reports.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain knowledge of HSE legislation and any developments
  • Support the delivery of relevant HSE training
  • Host monthly EHS meeting and update minutes
  • Deliver new starter EHS inductions

Skills & experience

  • Previous relevant hands on EHS experience. (Minimum 2 years)
  • NEBOSH General certificate
  • Experience in a production environment is required
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.
  • Ability to identify risks and provide safe solutions.

Reporting to:
HR Manager

Hours:
Monday - Thursday 8.00am and Friday 8.00am pm
