In this role you will join the Global Product Team responsible for deploying and maintaining the new global PA Automation Sales Configurator. This new digital platform equips our sales team with a fully automated solution for configuring and pricing automation systems to our customers.

As Global Product Modeling Engineer you can make a real impact to our organization by developing advanced product models that enable our sales team to configure our solutions faster. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, testing and troubleshooting of the product model in accordance with requirements from Sales, Operations and Product Management. You will work in a team of 5 members (ABB and supplier) and will engage across functions within PA.

Your responsibilities
  • Review, interpret user requirements and translate them into technical solution
  • Reverse engineer the existing configurator (ABB Wizard) and design solution in the new configurator
  • Implement product data and configure product model rules in the new configurator
  • Test and troubleshoot the product model; module and E2E testing
  • Identify product model improvements that provide values to the user in terms of usage and performance
  • Work closely with the supplier to ensure that platform enhancements and issues are reported and resolved best way possible
  • Ensure full compliance to the highest quality standard in terms of change management
Your background
  • Knowledge of the ABB Control System product portfolio and its configuration rules: 800xA, Symphony +, Freelance, Compact
  • Knowledge of division solutions part of an automation system
  • Knowledge of ABB Wizard is preferable
  • Knowledge of coding language e.g. Java Script, Delphi is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and result-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work both independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent in English
  • Up to 7-year experience in data analysis, data management and reporting in an ESG function in a corporate environment.
  • Engineering of automation system from design through to acceptance testing
  • Bachelor's degree in automation engineering, computer science, data modeling
