We are looking for a DPSS Payroll Finance Assistant to join the Direct Payment Support Services (DPSS).

Working on behalf of the Client Finance Services (CFS), Adults and Children's Services, the service supports the Vision for Norfolk in 2021: Caring for our County, the "Living Well" approach and will be aligned to the NCC Values.


This is an exciting position to deliver high-quality payroll administrative support for Direct Payment holders by operating processes to ensure effective delivery of service, including the inputting of payroll data and ensuring contract documentation and letters are accurately prepared and issued in accordance with statutory requirements, DPSS and County Council policy and practice.


  • Previous experience of working with financial matters, this could come from a variety of paid or voluntary work experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively and deliver great customer service to a diverse range of people.
  • Strong organisation skills, ability to prioritise, and work on your own initiative.
  • Competent to intermediate level in Microsoft office programmes, excel, databases, payroll systems. An understanding of Direct Payments.
