Please kindly note this is a Winery Warehouse and Production Assistant - Evening shift position .

Upon successfully joining Nyetimber, you will initially join on day shifts while undergoing training, once this has been completed (we estimate within 3 months) we will move to our afternoon shift to start gaining the benefit of extended production hours, once this has been successfully implemented you will start the evening shift permanently.

Temporary day shift hours: 7.30am - 4pm

Temporary afternoon shift hours: 11.30am - 8pm

Permanent evening shift hours: 3.30pm - Midnight

For day and afternoon shifts this will be Monday – Friday with a one hour early finish on Fridays and then when this transitions into permanent evening shift this will be Mon – Thursday.

There will be a 10% increase in pay when you start the afternoon shift and a 20% increase in pay for your permanent evening shift role. Kindly, please only apply if you are able to commit to the above, full job description and duties below.

The Winery Warehouse and Production Assistant will be responsible for meeting sparkling wine production demands including warehouse organisation, production line work, dispatch, receiving and efficient storage of all goods to and from the winery.

Winery Operational Duties

  • Carry out all winery production operations accurately and in a timely fashion. These production activities will include working on bottling, disgorging and labelling lines, plus general cellar activities.
  • To operate and supervise automatic and manual transferring activities.
  • To carry out riddling activities.
  • Forklift driving; Moving and stacking of bottling and TSR cages in safe and organised manner.
  • To accurately complete all work orders and related record keeping documents to ensure full traceability in the process.
  • Maintain the warehouse and production facility in a tidy state- take initiative to clean debris, rubbish and broken glass as needed.
  • Be the main receiving contact for all deliveries to the winery (including, but not limited empty bottle deliveries, packaging, etc.) receive, store, and accurately complete all related "Goods In" records.
  • Prepare and load, in an accurate manner, pallets and goods for sending to other Nyetimber or external sites. Including loading/unloading "on lees" stock for sending to/at other Nyetimber or external sites.
  • Organization and maintaining a correct storage for all finished goods, packaging, and dry goods pallets.
  • Support Labelling team with forklift activities and wrapping pallets during busy periods of time.

General

  • Flexibility over working days and hours is required at crucial times of the year.
  • To work in collaboration with all members of the winery team to ensure smooth operation of the winery and a positive work environment.
  • To maintain a safe work environment and act as a role model in following safety work practices.
  • To work at any of the Nyetimber production facilities as required.
  • To show initiative in keeping up to date with personal training records and updates to winery Standard Operating Protocols and/or Risk Assessments.
  • To undertake any prescribed training as required.
  • To act as a positive ambassador of Nyetimber when interacting with external parties.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the responsibilities of the role and any other reasonable management request.
