Role:

  • Job Role: Classroom Support Assistant
  • Type of Work: Full Time or Part Time
  • Location: Gateshead, specialist provision for autistic children and young people, catering for children and young people aged 3 19 years on the autism spectrum.
  • Pay: £ £92.56 per day

Requirements:

  • Worked as a teaching assistant in a school before, or have relevant SEN experience in either healthcare or another sector, which you can transfer over to an education setting.
  • Enthusiastic, dynamic and resourceful, joining a dedicated and hardworking team of specialised support staff.
  • Enjoy being effective in supporting students with complex needs, with an appreciation of the positive attitude required to encourage student independence.
  • Be able to engage with children and enforce positive behaviour
  • Have worked with children or adults with special needs before
  • Be able to challenge children when they display negative behaviour
