Gpsi in RHeumatology

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly Rheumatology team
within the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation
Trust as a GP with an interest in Rheumatology. We are seeking a GP with imagination, drive and commitment to work in Morecambe Bay.

This is an exciting time to be working in the field of Rheumatology.

You will be expected to:

Contribute in the ongoing development of rheumatology services
for the local population across the Bay.

The role also involves participation in OP activity, training and educational
activities, administrative and MDTs.

We are looking to invest in training GPs to support the delivery of outpatient care in Rheumatology. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, supervised by a Rheumatologist, alongside junior doctors and clinical nurse specialists, you will be trained to assess and support rheumatology patients

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

We want you to develop in this role, becoming an important part of our team, but are looking for someone who can bring with them good communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.

There is no on call commitment associated with this post.

This post can be based from any of our 3 main hospitals.
