My client is a leading Civil Engineering Contractor.
They focus on multiple sectors which include:
- Highways, Bridges and other large structures
- Marine Civils
- Earthworks & Remediation
- Rail
- Much more
They have a fantastic opportunity for a Planner / Project Planner to join their team in North Wales which covers from Anglesey across to Wrexham broadly.
They are looking for someone who is already within this position; or looking to take the next step in their career.
They would consider Senior Engineers / Sub Agents that can demonstrate good construction knowledge and experience and are looking to transition into more of a planning role.
This is a hybrid role so the successful individual will be responsible for providing support to several sites and tenders at any one time. There will be a combination of site and office visits as well as genuine opportunities for remote work.
They are open to applications from candidates who are located in, or can commute from, areas such as Portmeirion, Criccieth, Barmouth, Machynlleth, Llanbrynmair, Llanuwchllyn, Bala, Llanrwst, Ruthin, Denbigh, Bodelwyddan, Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Llandudno, Abergwyngregyn, Bangor, Bethesda, Caernarfon, Liverpool, Birkenhead, Crewe, Nantwich, Oswestry, and the surrounding areas.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting directly to the Head of Planning, the Project Planner will be responsible for assisting the Design Manager in the coordination of the design process on a project from tender to client and end-user handover.
On a day-to-day basis, the responsibilities of the Project Planner will include the following (not exhaustive):
- Managing controlled project documentation
- Drawing up and supporting the implementation of a construction program
- Defining methods and establishing outputs in consultation with the estimator and other team members
- Preparing a resourced programme including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements
- Compiling the forecast programmes
- Contributing to the identification of change and undertaking assessments of the time effects
- Preparing, maintaining and communicating the contractual programme to meet requirements
- Working with the Site Agents to understand progress, milestones, and activity completion
- Treating Health and Safety and environmental matters as primary drivers of approach
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will be a Project Planner who is in possession of the following:
- Graduate degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and if you are a Chartered Civil Engineer, would prove highly beneficial
- Experience of a wide range of civil engineering projects and disciplines
- Experience of NEC contracts
- Able to demonstrate a wide range of Civil Engineering knowledge
- Demonstrable experience in Planning Software packages
If you have experience in any of P6, ASTA Powerproject, and Microsoft Project, this would be advantageous in this role
Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages such as - Word and Excel
