We are currently seeking to appoint experienced Teachers in Education and Training (DET) on a Full-time, permanent basis.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Teaching on the CET / DET programmes
  • To deliver teaching in according to agreed standards, and identify areas for potential improvement, recommending these to the Academic Team Lead.
  • To develop lesson plan, schemes of work as required and ensure effective delivery of the programme.
  • To contribute to the development and enhancement of the curriculum
  • Design a range of assessment instruments that accommodate the requirements of the programme
  • Provide effective and constructive feedback to support the development and progression of learners.
  • To identify and/or develop initial assessments of skills in English, mathematics, and ICT and inform recruitment to the programme.
  • To provide personal academic tutoring (PAT ) for students on Short / long courses as a Personal Academic Tutor

Communication and Teamwork

  • To collaborate with other academic staff in developing and enhancing specialist units
  • To undertake CPD as directed from time to time in order to maintain currency in the specialist area and in inclusive teaching practices
  • To effectively engage with VLE and research resources and facilitate students' learning by means of online resources and activities

Student Experience

  • To contribute to the enhancement of the student experience through effective delivery of specialist responsibilities
  • Enhance student expectations, and to support recruitment, retention and progression
  • To promote high levels of student experience and performance in accordance with the strategic aims and objectives of the Programme.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Education (preferred), but other relevant qualifications could be considered
  • MA/MSc in relevant discipline (Essential)
  • HEA associate fellowship (Can be completed while working in LSST)
  • QTLS/QTS status (Essential)
