Resuscitation Officer

The Resuscitation Officer will support the Resuscitation Manager in planning and facilitating a comprehensive level of resuscitation training across all the Trust's sites, in line with current national recommendations and guidelines.
They will assist with patient safety and quality improvement projects and audits as required and provide clinical expertise by attending emergency team calls as required.
- Assist in the planning, development, delivery, evaluation and recording of all training provided by the Resuscitation Department and assess levels of competence during and following teaching.
- Help with income generation by providing training, where appropriate, for external customers.
- Deliver training and offer support to relatives and carers of at risk patients.
- Provide professional advice and support in relation to any aspect of resuscitation training, practice and procedures.
- Be an active member of the Trust's Resuscitation Committee.
- Participate in quality improvement projects relating to acute illness management and the deteriorating patient.
- Collect and collate data for Trust-wide and national audits relating to resuscitation.
- Attend adult, paediatric and newborn medical emergency calls and manage a cardiac arrest in the absence of an appropriate medical team leader.
- Provide appropriate advice and support during and after resuscitation to staff and/or witnesses involved.
- Assist in developing Trust policies and competencies in all relevant resuscitation procedures.
- Ensure a high standard of professional practice is maintained and maintain clinical competencies by working regular shifts in an acute clinical area.
