After School Club Leader

We are looking for a person with an outgoing personality and a passion for working with children, who can manage the day to day running of a busy Primary breakfast and afterschool club in Bournemouth.

Monday to Friday Term Time, with a staff of up to 5.


You must be over 21 for this position and preferably have at least 2 years experience in a childcare related field as well as experience successfully managing a team.

Additional work with our Holiday Club is often available but is not a requirement.


This is a permanent position and is not suitable for students or those who cannot commit to the required hours.


Requirements:

  • Applicant must have qualifications or experience in a childcare related field
  • Successful applicants are required to provide a full employment history, checkable references and an enhanced disclosure
  • Applicant must be able to prove a track record in a leadership role
  • Applicant must be able to commit to long term and hours stated

Duties & responsibilities:

  • You will be supervising and managing one of our sites providing children between the ages of 4 and 11 with varied play opportunities after school
  • Daily duties include setting up playrooms, liaising with parents and the school, planning and setting up interesting and fun indoor and outdoor activities and preparing healthy snacks.
  • You will be working within EYFS and Ofsted regulations as well as our own procedures.
  • Ensuring you have a cohesive team that works to everyone's strengths
- mínimal administration and paperwork duties

  • Any other duties relevant to the role
Hours of work are between 7.30 am to 8.45 am for breakfast club and 14.45 to approximately) for after school club.

If both shifts are worked you will be paid for 5 hours per day during term time.

In addition to these hours there is also the option to work during school holidays in our Holiday Club.


This job would suit someone with a sense of fun who enjoys working with children and contributing to their development.

An ability to work with others towards ensuring the children have as many play opportunities as possible is essential.

Childcare experience is essential as is managerial experience.

You must be able to show us that you can build and maintain a cohesive team that ensures the children are the focus of each day.

You must also be able to maintain the managerial aspects of your job and be comfortable keeping within EYFS/OFSTED guidelines as well as our own policies and procedures.

We do provide training to aid with this as well as ongoing support.

We are looking for someone who is looking for a long-term position to commit to our children and staff.

Ongoing CPD training as well as safeguarding and prevent training will be essential once you are hired. You will be paid extra for any required training that takes place out of club hours.
