Main tasks:

  • Escorting the children from school to the Bear Pak after school and wraparound club.
  • Ensuring the safety and welfare of the children is paramount at all times.
  • Conducting yourself at all times in a professional, courteous, helpful, warm and consistent manner.
  • Working as an effective team member.
  • Setting up and clearing away at the beginning and end of each session.
  • Providing safe, creative appropriate play opportunities.
  • Listening and responding to the needs of the children.
  • Ensuring the children are supervised at all times.
  • Assisting in the preparation and serving of refreshments for the children.
  • Carrying out any other duties that may be requested by the manager or assistant manager.
  • Supporting unqualified and volunteers as and when required.
  • Attending staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Taking part in fire drills.
  • Carrying out all responsibilities within an equal opportunities framework.
  • Working within agreed policies.

PERSON SPECIFICATION FOR QUALIFIED PLAYWORKER
E - ESSENTIAL D - DESIRABLE

E -Relevant qualification E -Ability to work as a team.

E -An understanding of good quality child care. E -A commitment to equal opportunities.

E- Ability to provide safe and creative play opportunities. E-Ability to communicate at all levels.

E-Experience of working with 3 to 11 year olds E -Ability to use judgement and common sense.

D -A current first aid certificate.

  • D-A current basic food hygiene certificate.
D -A current driving licence. D -Ability to work on own initiative.

  • Training will be provided for the successful applicant if you do not hold current Certificates.
