Recroot are looking for a Housing Caseworker to join our client based with Wiltshire Council.

This role is starting asap working Mon to Fri up to 36 hours a week in an ongoing contract.

This is a hybrid role and some office work required in Trowbridge.

The county-wide Housing Solutions Service provides genuine alternative options to homelessness through the provision of specialist advice.

About the role
The Housing Solutions Team is responsible for ensuring that everyone has access to a sustainable and secure home.

As Housing Caseworker, you will work in a busy and challenging environment; giving bespoke housing advice to customer via telephone during office hours, and help customers to find holistic, creative and practical housing solutions to maximising independence and minimising care and support needs.

You will engage and empower customers to identifying and making appropriate housing choice, and make appropriate and lawful housing needs assessments and homelessness decision-making About you You should be customer focused, empathetic and creative, with a commitment to working in partnership with internal and external contacts to ensure a high quality and efficient service.

You will have knowledge of landlord, tenant and homelessness law policies, and procedures, along with experience of managing a demanding caseload and carrying out home visits and investigations.

We will look to you to be highly literate and have excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills and a natural aptitude for dealing with any situation.

Today's economic climate makes this a very challenging time for the service and you will be using your professional skills and experience to develop innovative solutions and options to help prevent homelessness.
