Salary:
Up to £55,210 dependent on experience

What you'll be doing:
Responsible for designing and developing key Mechanical systems within the Underwater Weapons sector
Providing technical engineering support and guidance to mechanical engineering design activities for new and legacy products
Undertaking functional design and/or providing qualification and evidence for acceptance, fitness for purpose, regulatory & legislative requirements, and safety
Providing assurance that the design is adequate i.e., it is robust, and provide supporting documentation for the safety case
Contributing to and leading design review discussions/meetings
Assisting Engineering Governance and Requirements Capture activities
Taking part in supplier/stakeholder meetings
Supporting the development of other early careers engineers within the discipline

Your skills and experiences:
Have a detailed understanding of the principles and approaches underpinning mechanical engineering design and development.
Will have an understanding, knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering design and development of systems, sub-systems, assemblies and components
Strongly desirable to have experience in one of the following: Thermal Systems, Fluid Systems, HP Systems, Computational Fluid Dynamics
Requires excellent communication and diplomacy skills; must understand technical instructions and be able to communicate technical information to others
Typically, be at CEng level (or equivalent level of capability) or in the final stages of achieving CEng status
