Job Purpose:

As the Head of Data Centre Operations at Pulsant, reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, you will motivate and oversee a team of approximately 75 individuals during a period of expansion and investment. You will be responsible for leading data centre operations across all 12 sites, focusing on people management, engineering, energy efficiency, sustainability, system requirements, process ownership, and site maintenance, ensuring a superior client experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a culture of safety, ensuring all sites adhere strictly to health and safety best practices and security procedures
  • Manage financial planning and delivery for the team and sites
  • Ensure that the operating model aligns with Pulsant's strategic data centre goals
  • Inspire and develop the data centre operations team
  • Establish and implement standards, procedures, and reporting for data centres
  • Define and execute infrastructure lifecycle and efficiency improvement plans
  • Effectively manage Data Centre inventory and collaborate with sales teams

Our ideal candidate:

  • Prior experience in mission critical infrastructure environments and leading large operational teams
  • Experience managing significant budgets
  • Commercial acumen with a focus on maximizing sales opportunities
  • Willingness to travel to data centres regularly (at least every 6 weeks per DC)
