Working closely with the Information Governance manager, this person will be responsible for day-to-day data and information governance activities across Burberry's Data Domains, with a focus on Retail.


This person will need to have an understanding for design and delivery on IT side and collaborate with relevant business and IT stakeholders to ensure data definitions for the company's KPI's are in place and that there is support and alignment at physical layer.


Key Responsibilities

  • Becoming the focal point of contact between the technical and business sides of an organization.
  • Networking with data users (Data Scientists, Data Archaeology/Data Onboarding, Data & Information Architects) and build strong working relationships with business stakeholders who either impact or are impacted by potential data changes within Retail Data Domain (Product, Finance, People, Supply Chain etc)
  • Facilitates conversations across stakeholders to align on data definitions ensuring alignment across functions and enabling delivery element.
  • Document and deploy consistent enterprisewide data definitions, processes & policies and ownership related to Retail KPI's and metrics ensuring they are aligned to the retail strategy and within the wider organisation.
  • Responsible for curation of data artefacts with our Metadata Management Tool Enterprise Data Catalogue / Metadata Management Tool, Alation. This will involve collaborating with the business to curate/develop and implement policies and data processes to ensure compliance and improve data quality for business users to make accurate decisions.
  • Assist our Data Product Managers on any governance related activities, such as data quality, business processes and procedures, Business Glossary and Data Dictionary requests. This may refer to an ongoing BAU processes of Project / Change request work.

Experience needed

  • Previous experience in Data Analyst Role
  • Luxury Retail Industry experience beneficial
  • Experience in working with databases
  • Analytical skills
  • Dashboards & reporting
  • Data Governance related experience would be beneficial
  • Experience with Data Cataloguing tool would be beneficial
