Complaint CAP Contractor

Position Details

This Complaint CAP Contractor position will serve as the recognized resource in the Office of Special Education (OSE) relative to monitoring corrective action and proof of compliance for state complaint corrective action plans. These responsibilities include approving member district or Intermediate School District (ISD) Corrective Action Plans (CAP) and Student Level Corrective Action Plans (SLCAP) and reviewing and approving progress reports on CAPs and SLCAPs. The Complaint CAP Contractor will review evidence such as policies, procedures, and practices, reviewing student documents, district visits, and/or staff interviews, to verify the corrective action resulted in a change of practice and achieved compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Michigan Administrative Rules of Special Education (MARSE). In addition, the contractor will provide technical assistance to districts and/or ISDs to ensure districts understand and implement the requirements of IDEA and MARSE and support teammates in Program Accountability responsibilities.

The analyst works independently under the direction of the Coaching and Training Coordinator performing duties and responsibilities related to complaint CAPs and SLCAPs.

This position will start off as part time and could work into full time.
