The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management, recruitment, training and leadership of the South Somerset Integrated Administration Team, working alongside and line managed by our B5 Operational Manager and Delivery Lead.


This role includes the development, integration and organisation of the administration resource across the South Somerset Neighbourhood to provide an effective, efficient and collaborative administrative team to support clinical practice across the integrated team.


The post holder will play a key role in the development of the administration service and will be responsible for providing support and supervision to Band 2 and 3 administration colleagues.


The post holder should be aware that this post may require weekend/out of hours working to support the Trust's aim of a 7 day service across Somerset.


The postholder will be based at Magnolia House, Yeovil but will be expected to travel to various locations across Somerset as part of their role.

  • Ensure effective communication within the team and good working relationships with colleagues across the Trust.
  • Work with all levels of staff, including clinicians and senior managers, ensuring that collaborative working is fostered and encouraged.
  • Arrange and chair meetings with the Administration teams to offer peer support, discuss performance, ongoing issues and department developments.
  • Responsible for the organisation of administrative practices to develop efficient system of work within the team.
  • Plan and implement the rescheduling of workloads within the teams.
  • Provides leadership on a day to day basis and, if necessary, allocates work.
  • Arranges and provides cover for colleagues during periods of absence and leave, as required in the interest of the service, ensuring that adequate cover is in place.
  • Organises and oversees the induction of new members of the Integrated Administration Team.
  • Manages and prioritises own workload using own judgement, to make decisions on a daily basis dealing with problems/issues as they arise, working autonomously.
  • Contribute to the planning organising of any service improvement or development in strategic planning event
  • Proactive in the identification of service changes, developments and cost improvements within the department(s).
  • Arranges training and development for teams working closely with external training providers, to promote and develop learning for all staff.
