Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensuring the vision of 'a voice to change the world' is clearly articulated, shared and understood and acted upon by all staff Translating the vision into day to day practice for the STEM team Ensuring that the curriculum reflects the school's vision and values Ensuring that all pupils achieve excellent progression by using the systems and processes to track pupils' progress and ensure relevant intervention strategies are used

To have overall responsibility for raising standards of pupil engagement in STEM:

  • Leading, designing and implementing a STEM strategy from
  • 16
  • Working with Directors and Phase Leaders to ensure that STEM opportunities are identified and designed into the curriculum
  • Working with different community stakeholders to ensure that all students have the opportunity to engage with different STEM activities.
  • Working with feeder schools to develop their STEM curriculum and experiences.

To develop and support the leadership culture in the academy by:

  • Ensuring that all staff linked with Science have three ValuED conversations a year
  • Support the Director to instil the ValuED framework across the school
  • Dealing with staffing issues in an appropriate manner
  • Liaise with HR to deal with any staffing issues in consultation with the Quality of Education link
  • Manage staff performance in line with the academy and Trust policies.

All members of staff are expected to:

  • Have proper and professional regard for the ethos, policies, and practices of the school.
  • Have regard for the need to safeguard pupils' wellbeing and health & safety by following relevant statutory guidance, along with school policies and completing mandatory training on an annual basis.
  • Demonstrate positive attitudes, values and behaviours.
  • Demonstrate and maintain high levels of professionalism Share responsibility for ensuring that their own knowledge and understanding is relevant and up to date.
