Reporting to our Area Director, this role will provide day-to-day line management and coordination of WDP's new Specialist Smoking Cessation Service for the London Borough of Redbridge.


We are seeking applicants who have experience of team leadership or who are ready for a new challenge in a management position.


The Service
Launching in April 2023, WDP's Redbridge Specialist Smoking Cessation Service is a new contract for the borough.

We are currently building our specialist team who will be delivering high quality evidence based smoking cessation interventions in a wide range of locations across the London Borough of Redbridge, including GPs, pharmacies, community hubs, and hospitals, as well as virtually and from our main hub in Ilford where you will be co-located with colleagues in our well-established substance misuse service in Ilford.


The Role

The Smoking Cessation Team Leader will:

  • Provide a leadership role in service planning, development, implementation and coordination of the stop smoking service.
  • Develop and coordinate a team of Smoking Cessation Advisors to ensure they provide evidence based effective stop smoking interventions to the local community.
  • Liaise with key partner organisations such as, work places, community organisations, community centres to promote and embed the smoking cessation service within these settings.
  • Work in partnership with stakeholders including service users, staff and volunteers, to colead the development and maintenance of a highquality service that meet the needs, ensuring adherence with all WDP policies, practice and principles.


This is an exciting opportunity to be part of building a new service to deliver specialist advice and support throughout the community, and in doing so, to improve the health and wellbeing of those living in Redbridge.


This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some occasional early starts, evening cover, and occasional weekend work as required, on a fair rotational basis.


Location
WDP Redbridge is based in Ilford, close to the station. This role also requires being based in satellite locations across the borough of Redbridge. Reasonable travel expenses are provided.
