The hotel is situated in Gott Bay and the small, sunny island offers surfing, swimming, live music events, outdoor walks and coastline views.
Free accommodation on the island can be provided as part of the role.Duties include:
- Assisting the chef team in food prep, peeling, chopping, cooking etc.
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware
- Assist with receiving and storing food supplies, organising stock etc.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables properly
- Follow all health, safety and allergy regulations in the kitchen
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen / food service environment is preferred
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques is a plus
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Great teamwork, listening and communication skills
In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our chef by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, and ensuring smooth operations.
