About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for providing global leadership and strategic direction in managing ethical compliance risks. This includes anti-bribery and corruption, fraud, and preventing tax evasion. The goal is to ensure that the Press meets all legal and regulatory requirements and follows best practices in these areas.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead a team of compliance subject matter experts within the Group Legal and Compliance function, based in the UK and in higher risk jurisdictions worldwide.
  • Develop and maintain strategies, frameworks, policies (including global Ethical Policies), processes, and resources in compliance risk areas. Ensure that compliance programs align with legal standards and best practices.
  • Keep ExCo, Finance Committee, and Audit Committee informed on compliance matters. Provide necessary reports as required.
  • Enhance global awareness of compliance matters within the Press through training and awareness initiatives.
  • Offer support on compliance issues globally, including implementing Press strategy and policies at a local level.
  • Ensure proper investigation and action on compliance incidents. Oversee serious allegations and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish incident response mechanisms for timely and effective handling of compliance incidents. Monitor and report such incidents internally and externally.
  • Stay updated on compliance laws, trends, and technologies. Educate stakeholders and recommend policy changes when necessary.
  • Serve as the main contact for the Press with regulatory authorities in the UK and overseas.
  • Collaborate with General Counsels and senior lawyers on various compliance risks and liaise with other stakeholders as needed.

We follow a hybrid working policy that mandates a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
