We are looking for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to join our school in
Rochdale.

You will be working with an experienced team and in a culture where children are respected, listened to, and involved in as many decisions as possible.


As an HLTA, your day will be varied and interesting you will be able to support our teachers by assisting in the classrooms or out in the community, whilst following a flexible structure and supporting our children and young people to unlock their passion for learning.

You will be based in our Ofsted registered school but may also support 1 ACE provision locally.


1 ACE (Another Chance Education) is our alternative education provision, which works with children and young people who struggle in their formal or specialised education settings, we offer education on an outreach basis or within one of our Ofsted registered a school.

You will be working within a Trauma-informed practice model where we can support and follow a therapeutic practice.

Our young people may have had many adults come in and out of their lives, often adding to their trauma.

Therefore, we are looking for committed and dedicated people that want to continue their careers with a therapeutically based organisation and leading alternative education provision.


Our Team at Willow View School - Rochdale
Our school has two buildings on one site, one being an old farmhouse which is grade II listed. Willow view will cater for very small class groups of pupils, promoting social engagement.

We also have an outreach alternative provision attached to the school for pupils who are not yet ready to access education in a classroom setting.

These pupils are taught in community settings such as youth and community centres and have 1:1 or 2:1 staffing. They also have a personalised curriculum and timetable, adapted to suit their needs and interests.


We have a small and friendly staff team of teachers and HLTA's who have a range of qualifications and experience working within the SEMH and SEN field.

Our staff are trauma-informed and have a great understanding of our pupils and their challenges before coming to us.

We have a therapist who attends our site weekly, providing direct therapy to our pupils that require it, offering consultations and reflective practice to the staff team, and facilitating some of our training.

Term Time, this goes in line with the local authority
Our full-time hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30 am -4:30 pm

The role is full-time over 5 days per week, however, if you would like the opportunity for part-time or compressed hours, we would be happy to speak to you about this.

Requirements:

  • Good written and IT skills.
  • Able to communicate with children, colleagues, and external customers.
  • Able to actively listen to others.
  • Valid Driving Licence this is essential for this role
