Siemens Energy - Regional Business Partner - 18 month fixed term contract


Siemens Energy are looking for a qualified accountant to join our Regional Business Partnering team as a Technical Accounting Advisor for a fixed term of 18 months.

This role will be based in Camberley, Surrey however flexible working from home is available. You will work closely with a team that is based in various locations across Europe.

You will collaborate with our extensive network of businesses in the United Kingdom as well as in the rest of Europe, working with people throughout the organization at every level.

As a technical advisor you will need to be able to take the lead in aligning the treatment for complex, non-routine accounting topics and be able to share the learnings coming out of the decisions reached.


How will you do it?

  • Provide guidance and support in dealing with accounting queries, focussing on revenue recognition, order intake and other project accounting topics
  • Liaise with other teams within Siemens Energy and the external auditors on identified accounting topics ensuring they are aligned and communicated timely and appropriately
  • Contribute to the development of and ensuring appropriate IFRS knowledge by providing trainings to the finance and accounting community on a regular basis and in particular in case of accounting policy changes
  • Reviewing accounting papers from Real Estate colleagues based on IFRS 16 principles
  • Provide ongoing training on complex accounting topics to our finance and commercial community across Europe

What do you need?

  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and of financial reporting and implementation guidelines
  • Strong technical accounting and analytical expertise
  • Experience with IFRS 16 and 15 highly preferred
  • Experience in the assessment of complex and nonroutine accounting transactions
  • Qualification as ACA, CPA. CIMA or equivalent are highly preferred
  • Structured and independent style of work
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Basic knowledge of M&A, tax and legal requirements for companies
  • IT literate; capable in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
